Prime Minister Dr. Edouard Ngirente attends the UN 75th anniversary celebrations
Kigali, 21 September 2020 - Prime Minister Dr. Edouard Ngirente attended the United Nations 75th anniversary celebrations at Kigali Marriott Hotel as Rwanda joined the World to celebrate the Anniversary.
In his remarks, Prime Minister Ngirente expressed Rwanda’s readiness to collaborate with the UN through a very clear cooperation framework that contributes to Rwanda’s progress towards delivering on the UN SDGs. He also noted that Rwanda has integrated and domesticated these global goals in National Development Strategies such as NST1 (2017-2024) and the new Vision 2050.
Prime Minister Ngirente also said that in September 2019, the Government of Rwanda started the process of conducting an Integrated National Financing Framework (INFF). This mechanism will strengthen the capacities to mobilise resources required for the implementation of the National priorities & the 2030 Agenda.
On the occasion, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Dr. Vincent Biruta delivered Rwanda’s Statement at the High-Level Meeting to Commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the UN themed “The future we want; the United Nations we need.”
