President Kagame speaks at the Tony Blair Institute
Kigali, Wednesday 02 April 2021 – President Kagame has on Wednesday participated in the Tony Blair Institute panel on the impact of COVID-19 in Africa alongside Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, the Director General of the World Trade Organisation Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, and the Director of the Africa CDC dR. John Nkengasong
In his remarks, President Kagame underlined the domestic health spending calling on everyone to consider health spending from our resources as probably the number one priority. Getting that right will enable dealing with other priorities.
President Kagame also said that Kagame said that the pandemic had magnified some institutional weaknesses across Africa and at the same time uncovered some hidden strengths that the continent can build on.
