President Kagame in the Republic of Congo for the Fifth Investing in Africa Forum
Tuesday, 10 September 2019 - President Kagame today arrives in Brazzaville, Congo where he joins other African Heads of State and Government for the fifth Investing in Africa Forum (IAF). The President is expected to deliver remarks at the forum's opening ceremony.
Held under the theme “Leveraging Partnerships for Economic Diversification and Jobs Creation in African Economies”, the forum was established in 2015 as a global platform to promote multilateral cooperation and investment opportunities in Africa.
This fifth edition of IAF is hosted by the Republic of Congo and co-organized with the Ministry of Finance of the People’s Republic of China, the China Development Bank, and the World Bank Group.
The IAF is held once a year, alternating between Africa and China. The first and third editions were held, respectively, in East Africa (Ethiopia, 2015) and West Africa (Senegal, 2017), while the second and fourth were held in China (2016 and 2018).
The forum attracts over 300 participants including private and public sector representatives from China and Africa, international and regional institutions, development partners, as well as think tanks.
