President Kagame attends the International Anti-Corruption Excellence Awards

Kigali, Wednesday 09 December 2020 – President Kagame has on Wednesday attended the 5th edition of Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani International Anti-Corruption Excellence Award. The ceremony took place in a hybrid mood in Tunis, capital city of Tunisia.

In his remarks of the day, President Kagame said that combatting corruption may have a political cost, but the price of not uprooting it is much higher, in particular for the most vulnerable members of our societies. He also noted that transparency and accountability allow us to use our national resources effectively, for the well-being of our citizens.

President Kagame commended His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani the Amir of Qatar, as well as the valuable partnership with the United Nations, which makes the International Anti-Corruption Excellence Awards possible.
